New Star of Network—O3b Network

O3b refers to “other 3 billion”, which is right the number of people without reliable, high-speed Internet connections in the world.

Compared to the traditional GEO satellites, O3b Networks operates MEO satellite constellations, which are 8000KM away from the earth, much closer than GEO satellites. With the lower altitude, it reduces the latency greatly, shortens the response time, improves the quality of voice and video, and also makes variable cloud services realized. This kind of satellites has extremely high throughput, which can make its satellite service become an ideal solution when fiber-optic cannot operate or be unreliable.

During the first-year commercial service, O3b Networks Limited launched 12 satellites to the orbit. The primary constellation capacity has reached 192 Gbps, serve 40 customers, and the countries with live customers even reach 31. The sold capacity during the first year is nearly equivalent to 10% of three largest Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) operators together. From their achievements, we can see the phenomenal influence to customers and their business. This also reflects that the market has wide requirements on high-performance connection. And O3b can help customers improve their network capacity to a new grade.

As we all know, for many remote areas, satellites are the only transmission source people can get at most time. The implement of O3b not only solve the network connection problems but also will reduce even 95% of the existing network cost. We really can predict that people wherever they are won’t worry about network connections in near future.

To reach this mission, Antesky has also set to the corresponding antenna products based on O3b project. At present, Antesky satellite antennas about O3b project has entered into testing and verification stage. We’re looking forward to providing more superior service and cost-effective antennas for other three billion people besides the existing customers.
