From August 14th to August 16th, our factory hosted a client visit focused on an in-depth examination of our 7.3 meter C band Rx only antenna and series 8000 Antenna Control System. During the three-day visit, the client immersed themselves learning how to install and maintain antenna and conducted thorough tests on the antenna and series 8000 ACS. Key evaluations included the antenna’s radiation patterns, 3dB beamwidth, gain, noise temperature, and series 8000 ACS tracking abilities, providing a comprehensive overview of its performance capabilities. This hands-on experience allowed the client to delve deeply into our antenna and series 8000 ACS technology, ensuring they left with a clear understanding of antenna’s installation process and setup of the series 8000 ACS.

1. Radiation Patterns

Azimuth and Elevation Radiation Pattern ( ±4°)
Test Method:
Measure it by using the corresponding band of the synchronous satellite beacon to do the pattern.

2. Gain and efficieny
Test Method:
Measure 3dB beam width by Satellite beacon and calculate the antenna gain and efficiency, measure it by selected Satellite and beacon, the same method as the antenna pattern of 7.3m rx only antenna. The angle indicator accuracy of antenna servo system is high, so test it by the method of subtraction between antenna angles which is read directly.

3. Noise Temperature, G/T

Test Method
Test the rx only antenna noise temperature by “Y” factor. Connect LNA with antenna system of standard load in normal temperature and the antenna system of pointing to a better environment separately, test “Y” factor of the antenna system and obtain the noise temperature of the system. Note: The better environment means no water, no trees, no metal obscure, and no Satellite signal and avoids the direct sunshine to the reflector.
When testing “Y” factor, try your best to make the spectrum analyzer close to LNA so as to reduce the impact of RF transmission cable. In order to improve the testing accuracy, you can obtain the average value by several more tests for 7.3m rx only antenna.

After all the test, our 7.3m rx only antenna and series 8000 ACS met the customer’s needs. Finally, the client group also expressed their gratitude to Antesky before leaving the factory.
